After years in the 12-step programme of Alcoholics Anonymous, James becomes a sponsor to newcomer Luka. The pair bond over black coffee, trade stories and build a fragile friendship out of their shared experiences. But as Luka approaches step five – the moment of confession – dangerous truths emerge, threatening the trust on which both of their recoveries depend.

Finn den Hertog directs the provocative and entertaining production filmed live from @sohoplace on London’s West End.

For 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II met with each of her 12 prime ministers in a private weekly meeting. This meeting is known as The Audience. From Winston Churchill to Margaret Thatcher and David Cameron, the Queen advised her prime ministers on matters both public and personal. Through these private audiences, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch.

Peter Morgan’s Netflix phenomenon The Crown was based on this hit play that was captured live from London’s West End in 2013 and went on to become one of the most-watched NT Live productions

The History of The Swan in our 50th Anniversary Year

The Swan is 50!

In the 1970s, a group of people in the Yeovil Dramatic Society had a vision to convert their clubhouse, a former pub, into a live theatre venue.

With the money raised through sponsored events and much of the hard work being undertaken by the Society members themselves,  The Swan Theatre was born.

The first play, ‘The Sound of Murder’, was performed in June 1976

Now, nearly 300 productions later, we can applaud the efforts of those visionaries with a season of plays and events to celebrate our 50th anniversary.

About the Swan Theatre Yeovil

The Swan Theatre Company is committed to developing the performing arts in Yeovil and performs six shows a year, providing a wide range of opportunities for our members to perform or work backstage. In addition the theatre is a venue which is used by other groups in the area. Through our Charity Nights we have helped local charities raise thousands of pounds for their charities

In addition to the six shows a year, from time to time, we present rehearsed readings and run workshops on technical and stage-related aspects. To reinforce our links to the local community we maintain close contacts with schools and colleges in the area to explore mutually interesting projects. We aim to provide an interesting and challenging theatrical environment for people of all levels of ability.
